Why do gay Christians believe Jesus was right about salvation but not about homosexuality?

Those that claim to be both gay and Christian have a glaring inconsistency in their belief system. If Jesus and the Bible are wrong about condemning homosexuality then why should we believe what the rest of the Bible has to say about crucial topics such as salvation? Why should one believe in Jesus if according to one’s own opinion of Him, He was incorrect about homosexuality? The truth is that Jesus condemned homosexuality very clearly when he reiterated the pattern set forth in creation of marriage being between a man and a woman. Jesus also confirmed the law which also clearly condemns homosexuality in Leviticus. When supposedly gay Christians confess that they believe in Jesus and yet also believe He is wrong about an issue so crucial to them they expose the contradiction in their own belief system.

Thus, advocates of homosexuality and sodomy go to great lengths to deny the clear teaching of scripture regarding homosexuality. They falsely claim Jesus abolished the law. They falsely claim loving one’s neighbor as ones self can somehow overturn other laws. Incredibly, they believe that following their own definition of love gives them the right to disobey other laws. In essence, they demonstrate the height of antinomianism and humanism in direct rebellion against God.

When man rejects God’s law, he must of necessity replace it with his or another man’s law. This is why homosexual advocates fight desperately to have their perverted lifestyle approved by the state and even enforced and taught as normal. The witness of God’s law in creation and in man’s conscience is so evident that the homosexual lives in a constant state of rebellion and continually tries to suppress the knowledge of God.

The homosexual, in an effort to suppress his conscience, is driven to religion, whether it be the religion of the state or a perversion of the Christian faith. When he turns to the Christian faith while still remaining in rebellion he is faced with a dilemma. He rejects the clear teaching of the scripture against homosexuality by either fruitlessly explaining away all condemnations of it or he acknowledges the Bible’s teaching condemning homosexuality while claiming the Bible is in error concerning the matter. Often, homosexuals will attempt both methods in their desperation.

By attacking the inerrancy of scripture in claiming that the Bible is wrong concerning homosexuality, homosexuals expose that they have viewed themselves as god. When they claim that Jesus is wrong about homosexuality they also are claiming themselves to be a higher authority than God. One wonders why such a person would even need a savior?

If the homosexual will repent and humble himself before God, he will find Christ to be a perfect Savior. Paul, in his letter to the Christians in Corinth wrote reminding them that some of them were previously homosexuals and yet still Christ washed, sanctified, and made them righteous.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not led astray. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate men, nor homosexuals, nor greedy men, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor the slanderous, nor the predatory will inherit the kingdom of God. And some of you were these things, but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were made righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ACV

  1. Really, people? I know The Bible condemns homosexuality, but doesn’t it also say that God loves us for who we are? God made us, didn’t He? He knew how we were going to turn out.
Being gay or lesbian isn’t something you can control. And gay Christians are just like the rest of us. I’m a straight Christian. Some people advocate for gay and lesbian people even though they’re not one of them.
You know what this reminds me of? Black rights. Not that long ago, they weren’t even people to us. They were something less And now? We have a black for a president. And a very good president, I might add. The tradition thing? Well, it’s not like the whole world is gay or lesbian. The traditions will survive.

    1. But proponents claim it’s dictated by “genes” and that “lifestyle” is dictated by “genes.” There’s no choice, apparently, to them. To them either one is born one way or born the other. ITS ASCRIBED, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. To the contrary we have CHOICES…. We’re all equal, as men and women, and “race” is PURELY a SOCIAL concept according to modern anthropologists. We differ by around 0.00001%, according to modern evidence AGAINST race as ascribed by DNA. No one should dictate to people how they are ascribed at birth for a particular lifestyle by DNA. That’s embracing the same arguments which cruelly discriminated against women and various races, the poor, and indigenous – the “gene” argument for “lifestyle” is corrosive

  2. Natalie, I don’t know your heart, but I will tell you you’re not reading the same bible as me! I am a born again Christian, washed in the blood of Jesus Christ! I read and pray for understanding of the Holy Word, and I can tell you that homosexuality is an abomination and displeasing in the eyes of The One True God, who has and always rein over everthing. If homosexuals was truly born that way, then that means God made a mistake! He destroyed an entire city for the very same reason, homosexuality. I know my God is a just and Honest God and doesn’t make mistakes!! So maybe you should reevaluate your christian walk and see what’s truly right In the eyes of God! I pray for you and ever sin sick and misled individual everyday, and hope eyes will be open to the truth before it is everlasting to late.

    1. Chris is narrow-minded? It says it right there in the FIRST chapter/book, like the first 30 or so pages, of the New Testament that one man and one woman should be together, Jesus’s throwback to Genesis. Even a novice, knowing nothing about it, could pick up the book, read the first 30 or so pages, and see it and know it. It doesn’t even take that long to read the first chapter/book of the New Testament.

      1. Same-sex marriage should be legal in ALL 50 states. According to the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution, “No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States”. As a lesbian citizen of the United States, I am diminished or abridged the privilege of marriage in the state of Georgia. THIS IS WRONG AND IT HAS GOT TO STOP.

    2. Then why are you on this? You searched for anti-homosexuality, and this is what you get. Attacking those who has an opinion that differs from yours makes you closed minded also. There are so many pro gay sites you could visit who are agianst the bible and voice their disdain agianst those who are anti gay, instead of coming here to place were homosexuality is not accepted. In reality you want to try to make those who are agianst the gay agenda to feel guilt or change their opinions. It is a religious right, and we feel that homosexuality is trying to change the paramaters and rules of the bible. The bible clearly states that homosexuality is an abomination. God does love everyone but he just dislikes the sin. Thats like letting an unruly child get away with disrespecting his/her parents and not expecting punishment. Follow your parents rules, and you’ll make them happy and life will be easier. The same applies to God. Now with that being said, homosexuals cry about rights and morals, yet they try to negate others opinions and beliefs. They conradict themselves, everyone does not have to agree with the gay agenda, and they make it feel like you have to. We as humans were not created to mate with the same sex, if that were true we could be genderless like slugs or carpet eels. I researched homosexuality, and they’re are ofher species that are homosexual, but NOT in the way humans perceive homosexuality. None of these “homosexual” species have ever mated with that, it is considered a rare occursnce in the animal kingdom, meanig that it is unnatural. If you do a little research it will become evident that having a mother and father present is good for a childs psycology. Also homopobia is a term that has seemed to arise out of thin air. People do not fesr gays, it is more of disgust, because it is unnatural. Our bodies are not made to mate with the same sex, life cannot be born from that type of relationship. So with or without religion homosexuality still would not be socially accepted point blank. And homosexuals have a insatiable appetite for blaming religion, when its not about that. I have coms across agnositc and atheist who are agianst homosexuality. Its not just about religion, but nature itself

  3. makes me ill how people try to change gods words to fit there own life and life style im sorry if you follow christ then u should be against homosexuality

    1. I’m against ALL sort of sins – my past single life, gossipers, slanderers, discouragers, pride, envy, rage, and most recently gluttony – my biggest sin. Joyce Meyer puts it well when she says “I’m not yet where I should be, but THANK GOD, I’m not where I used to be!” The only way the world will know we are Christians is by our love. We can love without condoning sin.

  4. I recently read an article writen by a lesbian about how there are a lot of gay people in the church who know Christ and who have the Holy Spirit conviction that are quietly struggling to turn away from this life and desires. I think we as God’s people have to be careful not to throw out the baby with the bathwater. If our fists are clenched in fighting mode, it’s hard for our arms to be open to bring them into the fold – warts and all – and let the Great Healer work in their lives. ALL sin can be forgiven, but not all people know this yet. Let’s not discourage those who are trying to do the right things and turn away from their sin.
