Vote "Yes" Idaho Marriage Amendment
WHY DOES IDAHO NEED A MARRIAGE AMENDMENT?
Although gay marriage is already illegal in Idaho, it is not sufficient simply to have a law on the books. State judges have overturned state marriage laws in at least five other states.
The Idaho Supreme Court justices recently issued a ruling that sexual orientation cannot be taken into account in adoption proceedings. Thus they have already shown a willingness to tamper with traditional family structures, and there is no reason to think they will not, in time, tamper with the institution of marriage itself.
We must change the constitution to grant marriage the maximum possible legal protection and insulate it from the tyranny of activist judges who impose their own social agenda over the will of the people.
THIS NOVEMBER IDAHO'S MARRIAGE AMENDMENT
WILL BE ON THE BALLOT!
"A marriage between a man and a woman is the only
domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized
in this state."
Where do we go from here?
* Write letters to the editor supporting traditional marriage. Be factual, be compassionate, and be Christ-like.
* Support the Marriage Protection Alliance with your prayers and finances. This will be an expensive campaign. In every other state with an amendment on the ballot, gay advocates have spent at least $500,000.00 to defeat the amendment. All indications are that Idaho will be faced with an onslaught of out of state funds to defeat our amendment.
* Access the Marriage Protection Alliance or the Cornerstone
Institute of Idaho website to get reasoned, principled apologetics on
marriage and why it is so important it is not re-defined.
* Ask your pastor to put the Marriage Protection Alliance
bulletin inserts in your bulletin and make them available at church.

* Offer to be a liaison for your church to Cornerstone
Institute and Marriage Protection Alliance. This will be of great help to
your church leadership.
* PRAY for marriage, pray for those on the front lines of this
battle to protect marriage, pray for those opposed to protecting traditional
marriage, pray for our great state.

Pastors and churches are making a difference in marriage initiatives and political campaigns. Gearing up for midterm elections, with primary races set to begin next week, pastors and churches are mobilizing for the fall elections. Pastors should openly support the Idaho Marriage Amendment.
While churches may not endorse or oppose candidates for elective office, they may register voters by setting up voter registration booths or by distributing motor-voter registration forms. They may conduct "get out the vote" campaigns to encourage voting. Pastors may preach about biblical and moral values, and may take specific positions on such issues that have become, or should become, part of the political debate. Churches may distribute objective voter guides which address a broad range of issues. Churches may also host forums where the candidates are invited to present and defend their positions.
